Swiss Women in Chemistry Platform - launch in September 2019
The newly established SCS Women in Chemistry (SWC) platform is open to all female scientists of Switzerland across the diversefields of chemistry, life sciences, and biotechnology, coming from academia, industry, and government. The platform aims to support and generate visibility for female chemists through a professional network for women at all stages of their career, from senior executives to junior scientists. Members of the network will be provided with an open platform for the exchange of ideas and experiences, and early researchers can be supported in their professional development through a mentoring program. Members can realize opportunities for collaboration with other organizations and corporations through various networking events.Download the pdf with further details here.

NCCR MUST Women Scientist Workshop in Grindelwald, 11 January 2019
34 women scientists attended the Women Scientists Workshop at the NCCR MUST Annual Meeting in Grindelwald. Prof. Enrica Bordignon and Prof. Clara Saraceno from Ruhr Bochum University gave presentations on their research fields and career path so far. There was also a workshop session, where the participants were divided into two groups and discussed with the visiting speakers questions about the positive aspects of academic life and the career challenges.

NCCR MUST Women Scientist Workshop in Grindelwald, 22 January 2018
35 women scientists attended the Women Scientists Workshop at the NCCR MUST Annual Meeting in Grindelwald. Prof. Natalie Banerji from University of Bern and Prof. Rachel Grange from ETH Zürich gave presentations on their research and career path. These presentations were followed by a workshop session, which focused on identifying the aspirations of the participants and the challenges of pursuing a career in academic science. The participants also worked on possible solutions to the challenges.

Lore Agnes-Award for the RUB Women Professors Forum
„Möge die Macht mit euch sein!“ Gerade hat Christina Reinhardt den Lore-Agnes-Preis an das Women Professors Forum der Ruhr-Universität Bochum übergeben. Dazu gab es statt Blumen ein Laserschwert. Chancengleichheit für Frauen und Männer zu schaffen, ist ein Ziel, das die RUB für Studierende und Beschäftigte aus allen Bereichen mit großem Nachdruck verfolgt. Die Ruhr-Universität Bochum möchte erfolgreiche Gleichstellungsstrategien, die innerhalb der Universität verfolgt werden, sichtbarer machen und durch einen Preis würdigen. Deshalb zeichnet das Rektorat alle zwei Jahre herausragende Maßnahmen zur Gleichstellungsarbeit in den Fakultäten und Einheiten der Ruhr-Universität mit dem Lore-Agnes-Preis aus. Mit dem Lore-Agnes-Preis sollen erfolgreiche Gleichstellungsinitiativen von Fakultäten, Lehrstühlen, Dezernaten, Abteilungen und weiteren Einrichtungen der RUB prämiert werden.

Women Professors Forum der Ruhr-Universität Bochum
Gender and Science Meeting 13 & 14 September 2017
An international meeting for all scientists and those interested in Gender and Science organized by NCCR MUST and Ruhr-Bochum's Excellence Cluster RESOLV.
Speakers from Switzerland and Europe made presentations on key issues and current initiatives to counter gender imbalance in science addressing questions such as: What does the research show about the opportunities for women and men to achieve a successful scientific career? What are the experiences in the UK, Sweden, Switzerland and Europe? Are their barriers to career development? How do men and women combine family life and scientific research? What does gender have to do with physics?
