Being the CEO of your Career, Jie Qiao

Jie Qiao is also the founder and president of WiSTEE Connect (Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Entrepreneurship) - a group she started in 2012.

After realising that among 60 scientists in the lab there were only three women, Jie Qiao created WiSTEE to get women in junior-faculty and mid-career positions together. She argues that besides research, writing papers and training students the financal side is very important for a faculty members as well. That's why the comparison between a women faculty member and an entrepreneur can be very helpful.
