Dr. Jasmine Desmond, Meuwly Group, Uni Basel
Postdoc
Research: The main theme of my postdoctoral research is computational medicinal chemistry with an emphasis on the investigation of the dynamics of halogenated compounds in solution. A particular focus is on small organic building blocks and their use in insulin to influence dimerization and oligomerization energetics of the hormone and its binding to the insulin microreceptor. The work is carried out in close collaboration with experimental groups in the US and in Australia.
