Compact linear array camera for ultrafast UV/Vis/NIR experiments
Since November 2013, PIs Cannizzo and Feurer collaborate with Synertronic Designs, a company providing design services for electronic product development. The outcome of this collaboration is a cost effective (€ <2500.- each) very compact linear array camera for ultrafast UV/Vis/NIR experiments with 1028 pixels, detection range 200-1000 nm, detection and data manipulation of each spectrum at a single shot level up to 7.5 kHz repetition rate, 16-bit resolution and low electronic noise (13.5 effective number of bits). This detection-system can detect a single transient absorption spectrum with a NTSR < 10-3 and 10-4 NTSR can be achieved with 100 shots or in 100 ms with a typical 1 kHz pulsed laser. The device is designed for multi-detector synchronization (up to 8 camera and 2 photodiodes) with a high speed USB interface. The test of the first prototype was successfully concluded and a commercial version is already available under the tradename "Glaz".
